GOTY

This War of Mine is a stragety survival game centered around a fictionial war. Instead of playing as an elite soilder, you play as a survivor. This adds an interesting view on it. Instead of mowing down hundreds of random guys with guns, you find yourself scavenging throughout the night to avoid sniper fire. You can craft a wide variety of different items, from bed so your survivors sleep better to tobbaco to trade for other things.

The game is mostly randomized, having almost each playthrough start you with different characters, which can be anywhere from 2 to 4 characters. They all have different skills, meaning that you have to use those to your advantage (Big backpack, good cook, good builder, etc) instead of just sending out everyone to do whatever. The map is also randomized, with there being around two dozen different areas. There is usually two or three ways in which you enter the map, and multiple things that can happen inside. Guns and tools are in need of constant repair, which means that you may have to use melee weapons to get around people. Stealth is sound and sight based, so running generates more sound then sneaking.

Overall this game is amazing, and now one of my favourite games.
